Blog Liberty’s VIP Journal.

Liberty is 17 years old and recently finished her GCSE’s at Meadowbrook College. Meadowbrook had recognised her commitment to personal development by offering her a part time position in the administration team.
Very Important People + wanted to offer Liberty the opportunity to stay engaged in positive activities during the summer as well as continue developing her employability skills.

She was offered a role as a VIP+ Mentor to enable other young people from the three schools to participate and reach their potential. This is part of VIP+ Pilot Mentoring Project. VIP+ are now looking into setting the mentoring project has part of our core service.

Liberty worked over a 6 week programme at the Parasol Teenage Programme. She was asked to keep a diary over the time period so that she could reflect on her experience and see how she developed her mentoring skills. Below are extracts from Liberty’s journal which Liberty has given VIP permission to use so that we can demonstrate the potential of youth mentors from the 3 schools make a difference to young people who have shared similar life experiences.
